Using QuickBooks to Track and Calculate Sales Rep Commissions

Step 2: Create a custom field for Sales Rep commission rates:

A)    Go to the Customer Center by clicking either the Customer Center Icon, Customer … Customer Center … or CTRL+J shortcut:

B)    Highlight any customer name:

C: In the upper right corner of the Customer Information window, select Edit Customer:

D: In the Edit Customer window, Select the Additional Info tab and Define Fields button:

This opens the Set up Custom Fields for Names window:

E. In the Set up Custom Names for Fields window, enter Commission Rate and select Cust in the Use for: fields. Click OK:

The Custom Field Commission Rate is now available for use on sales forms.
